's demand a plan. >> early this morning, i came back from blacksburg, va., from virginia tech, and spoke with a survivor from another massacre. his name is colin goddard. he was shot four times during the 2007 virginia tech massacre that left 32 people dead. he now works for the brady campaign to prevent gun violence. he was later featured in a documentary called "living for 32." as we walked through the virginia tech campus, i began asking colin, what happened on that day of the massacre? >> we are right behind all where the shooting happened. this is where i used to walk to class from parking my car every day. it has been awhile since i have been here but it looks the same. >> what class were you taking? >> intermediate french. i have class here monday, wednesday, friday. we parked off campus over there, debated on skipping actually, but instead, we took this walk and went through the door here. we are here in the middle of norris hall, the hallway that resembled a hallway back in 2007. you can see the same kind of white walls, white tile floor. the hall where the shooting happened is

in blacksburg at virginia tech on campus. the two former governors are trying to succeed jim webb. polls show a tight race between the two. >> violent crime is up nationwide. a new survey finds the violent crime rate rose 17% last year. that ended a general decline in violence which began 20 years ago. analysts say is too early to tell if it is an anomaly or if it might signal a turnaround of a sustained drop in violent crime. >> the texas attorneys general's office has dropped bigamy charges against warren jeffs the polygamist leader. he is already serving a life prison sentence. he was convicted of sexually assaulting a two underage girls that he considered his bride. the charges came after authorities raided his ranch in 2008. a main high school ikea coach whose name appeared on a list of men who paid a fitness instructor for sex is leaving his job now. police released the names of 21 suspected clients and are planning to release more names. her other clients include a former mayor and several businessmen. she has pleaded not guilty to prostitution and other charges. >> the world's oldest

in west virginia. rain/snow mix. it's snowing in southwestern virginia as well from near blacksburg. that cold air is going to get wrapped into the system and advance farther to the north and bring in blizzard conditions for eastern-western virginia. for us, we have to think about flooding. there could very well be creeks starting to come out of their banks. st. mary's and perhaps even parts of charles and eastern prince georges county right now. and there's more rain to come. right now, around the metro area, where you see the yellow, here's the intensity scale. that's moderate rain in washington, most of montgomery county, most of fairfax county, prince william, and stafford in pennsylvania. further left where you see the green, that's light rain. it's going to be coming in bands. this is the biggest band of the storm so far and it's moving inland. there's a more narrow band crossing now, just about to move into the bay, and moving west of the eastern shore. there's another band off the coast here too. we're going to get band after band. they taper off for a while and you may thin
